Gift membership benefits include a one-year subscription to Smithsonian. New gifts ordered from July through December will start with the January issue, which arrives in late December. Smithsonian publishes monthly, except Jan/Feb, Apr/May, Jul/Aug, and Sep/Oct, and when future combined issues are published that count as two as indicated on the issue’s cover.
